You seat a table of three for breakfast and the woman says hmm yes I will have a loaded waffle tower please and you say ma'am that's a children's item and she says so and you say okay fine and the man who brought a whole laptop in says ah, I will have what the lady is having and an orange soda and you say for breakfast and he says of course and then the guy who is clearly a criminal says what kind of bread do you use for your French toast and you say ... White and he says can I sub brioche and you say we don't have brioche and he sighs and says I'll get the rooty tooty... Whatever the cowboy omelette and the other two start razzing him about being a cowboy and when you come to check up on them the woman is playing airplane with the loaded waffle tower trying to get the criminal to eat it and they tip $200 and your watch has been replaced with a better watch

polyamory was invented in 1969 by kirk, spock, and mccoy, and their only true successors are the leverage ot3 and whatever the fuck psych had going on

Eliot: Love is a weakness and an evolutionary mistake.
Sophie: You’re literally making flower crowns for Parker and Hardison as we speak.
Eliot, pointing a rose stem threateningly: You’re on thin fucking ice.

Thing is as much as I'd love a fully canon romantic leverage ot3 I don't need it to function. I just need it to like. Not not be canon.
What I mean is I'm cool with it being ambiguous whether it's a romantic ot3 or a queerplatonic one or a romantic one where Eliot still has other partners too, that's all cool. I just need it to be crystal clear that Eliot is as important a part of their relationship as a whole as Hardison and Parker are.
And what frustrated me in leverage redemption, especially seasons 1 and 2 is that like... sometimes there were incredible nods to this but then sometimes it felt like they were going out of their way to make some remark to say oh the ot3 is totally not a thing. Little things to place Hardison/Parker on a higher level of importance than the relationship of all three of them.
And also the relationship between Eliot and Parker sometimes just felt... off? Idk how to describe it, again, little things that made it feel like they didn't know and understand each other to the degree they should.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the show and there were plenty of good moments! But idk something, some level of familiarity between the characters felt like it was ever so subtly missing sometimes.
Season 3 was overall better, though there were still a few moments like this - not super many though. However. The last episode of the season? Kind of. Might have made up for every other little thing I didn't like.
Bc while other episodes sometimes made me go "this doesn't make sense, Eliot knows Parker better than that" or vice versa, that last episode finally gave me everything I could have hoped for. Bc I don't need them to kiss, I need it to be absolutely 100% clear that Eliot and Parker know and love each other just as much as Parker and Hardison do.
And Eliot is the one person in that episode who doesn't question Parker's reasoning, doesn't tell her why he thinks he's doing it, he simply respects her wishes to do it on her own but is still there when needed - as Parker knew he would be. He follows Harry "just in case" but doesn't interfere until he's needed. He's there for Parker when she's considering killing that guy but he's not there to stop her - just to support any choice she might make. And he doesn't tell anyone, let's her tell the team that letting him go was always the plan. Some people said oh he knew she'd do the right thing and I don't think that's true. I think he may or may not have had his thoughts for how it would probably turn out but I also think he would absolutely let her do it even if he was certain that she would actually kill him. He'll support her choice no matter what it is and be there if she needs him.
And that? Yeah. That's them. That's perfect. That's everything. I love it. And that being at the end in some way reframes the whole show and makes a lot of those other little moments less jarring.

Hey remember how leverage had one historical flashback episode with Parker and Hardison as the couple, and then another historical flashback episode with Parker and Eliot as the couple. Hey. Hey remember that.

Eliot, I'm gonna ask you not to do anything violent. What? What are you talking about? I only use violence as an appropriate response.

sometimes i think about how eliot spencer in any other font would be such an annoying character. like he's the gruff, ex-military, man pain guy who gets all the girls. and then they said no! he's a thoughtful and kind man who children love and who has an absolutely mind-obliterating insane amount of ptsd. and he's got long hair, jewelry, and probably some sort of pronouns situation. and he's almost certainly in a sort of queerplatonic throuple with an adhd genius and the most autistic woman(?) alive. what a character

DRAWTOBER #10 - don't let the madness change us by stardustandswimmingpools
“Parker,” Eliot hisses at the ceiling vent, “what the fuck?" Aw, shit. “Aw, shit.” Hardison grimaces, rubbing his head. In the…excitement of the night, he completely forgot about Parker. “Parker, why are you in the ceiling?” There's a long pause. “I don't understand the question,” Parker says.
this is essentially relationship negotiation: the fic, but it's also a lot more fun and cute and lovely than that sounds! Hardison and Eliot have a conversation trying to figure out what spending time together in the bedroom means for them, and uh. also Parker is there. in the ceiling. because of course she is.
